Legal Basis of the Foundation

Meet our wishes
In this section, we share the statutes that govern the Río Rubens Conservancy Foundation. Through these, we detail our principles, objectives, and the legal framework that guides our actions in the conservation and sustainable management of the water ecosystems of the Magallanes region.
Allocation of resources
The resources that form part of the entity's assets will be applied to the foundation's purposes according to the following criteria:
Impacto Directo en los Ecosistemas:
Priority will be given to those projects or beneficiaries that work directly on the conservation and restoration of freshwater courses and their areas of influence, contributing tangibly to the protection and sustainability of water resources and biodiversity.
Geographic Location
Preference will be given to projects and beneficiaries located in the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica region, where aquatic ecosystems face specific challenges. However, the foundation may support initiatives in other regions or countries that contribute to its general objectives.
Vinculación con la Conservación Sostenible:
Projects that harmonize ecosystem conservation with sustainable productive activities will be prioritized.
Proyectos Compatibles
The Foundation may collaborate with any project or initiative, regardless of its scope or origin, provided that it is aligned with, and/or provides funding for, the Foundation's objectives and values.
Diversidad de Proyectos:
The Foundation will promote collaboration with projects from various fields and sectors, including those related to the responsible use of natural resources.
Recipients of resources
The Foundation's resources are intended to support projects and organizations that work on the conservation and restoration of aquatic ecosystems. We give priority to local initiatives in the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica region, as well as to those projects that promote sustainable practices. We also encourage collaboration with educational institutions, NGOs, and local communities that share our commitment to protecting the environment.
Local Communities
Priority will be given to local communities that actively participate in projects that contribute to the conservation and responsible use of water and natural resources, favoring those that share the values of the Foundation.
Educational and Research Institutions:
Universities, research centres and other academic entities that develop studies related to the conservation of aquatic ecosystems and biodiversity will be considered for support in their initiatives, provided that the projects are aligned with the objectives of the Foundation.
Sustainable Projects and NGOs
Beneficiaries will be those projects of NGOs and other organizations that promote sustainable practices and programs aimed at the protection and responsible management of natural ecosystems, collaborating in initiatives that do not conflict with the values of the Foundation.
Companies and Entities of the Private Sector
Companies that promote responsible and sustainable practices, such as environmental management in development projects, may also be considered beneficiaries of the Foundation's resources, provided they comply with the principles of sustainability and respect for the environment.



Founding Purpose
The purpose of the Foundation will be the conservation, protection and sustainable management of ecosystems associated with water resources, especially freshwater courses and their areas of influence, in the Magallanes region and Chilean Antarctica. Through research, education and the implementation of conservation projects, the Foundation will seek to safeguard these vital ecosystems, promoting their preservation and restoration in the face of the challenges of climate change and other environmental pressures.

Collaborating Members
The Board of Directors of the Foundation may admit as Collaborating Members natural or legal persons, public or private, national or foreign, who so request and undertake to collaborate free of charge in the development of the Foundation's objectives by providing technical, professional or financial assistance. The status of Collaborating Member shall not create any legal link between the latter and the Foundation.
